Group Projects
Join a group with other volunteers to fund and help implement a larger
community development project than you could by going it alone.
KEY FEATURES OF AN AIDCAMPS PROJECT
Our projects usually centre on a volunteer construction project that will provide a community building, such as a village primary school, resource centre or health care facility.
Key features:
– Typically 8-12 volunteers
– Two or three weeks
– Suitable for individuals or small groups
– Open to anyone over the age of 18
Almost anyone can help to build a community building – there’s no “hard hat” work and you don’t need to have any construction skills or experience. The serious construction work is done before the volunteers arrive by local workers and you’ll be helping with the finishing work, usually plastering, painting, decorating and all the other little jobs to get it from being four-walls-and-a-roof to the finished building.
As well as the voluntary work, all our projects have an itinerary organised around them designed to familiarise you with the country you are volunteering in.
WHAT IT COSTS
AidCamps projects are offered as a package, with most in-country costs (accommodation, most food, ground transportation and excursions) included in the registration fee. For more information on how our projects are funded, and the minimum fundraising amount you’ll need to raise to take part, see our What it Costs page.
JOIN A PROJECT
We aren’t currently recruiting volunteers for a group project but if you would like to find out more about volunteering with us, you can get in touch with us using the form below, and you can also use the form to let us know that you’re interested in joining a project when we next have one available.
If you would be interested in joining us as an independent volunteer you can find out more on our Individual and Family Volunteering page.
DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S GOLD AWARD
AidCamps International is a Residential Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. If you’re aged 18 to 25 and want to achieve your Gold Award then we can help you meet the criteria for a residential project.
If you join an AidCamps project, the others in the group won’t necessarily be working toward their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award so you’ll also gain new perspectives, meet people of all ages, and do something amazing, all while working towards your Gold Award.
